Morpho principal engineer Julien confirmed the restoration of services after identifying a potential issue with Amazon Web Services (AWS) CloudFront, a content delivery network frequently used to host web applications. Although the team linked the downtime to AWS infrastructure, the protocol did not issue a final root cause analysis. The event also impacted the website for the project YEET, which noted that its own platform went offline during the same window.
This incident highlights a persistent vulnerability in decentralized finance: the reliance on centralized web layers for user interfaces. Even when a blockchain protocol remains secure and operational, a failure in a content delivery network can prevent users from viewing positions or interacting with their assets via standard web browsers. Despite the interface disruption, there were no reported losses of user funds.
