Harris Teeter Integrates Prescription Delivery into Instacart Orders

Shoppers in Matthews and beyond can now consolidate their medicine cabinet and kitchen pantry needs into a single transaction. Harris Teeter has launched a new service allowing customers to bundle eligible prescription deliveries with standard grocery orders, utilizing the existing Instacart infrastructure to bring both to their doorsteps simultaneously.

The service, accessible via the Harris Teeter website and mobile application, aims to streamline health management by leveraging the same pharmacy teams customers already utilize in-store. Lindsay Cappoziello, senior director of health and wellness, noted that integrating these services is intended to simplify daily routines for families who require both fresh food and routine medication.

To utilize the delivery option, users must be enrolled in the company’s 'My Prescriptions' program and utilize Online Pay. While the service offers significant convenience, eligibility remains subject to specific medication types, local regulatory requirements, and delivery location constraints. The expansion marks another step for the North Carolina-based subsidiary of The Kroger Co. as it attempts to bridge the gap between digital ordering and traditional retail pharmacy access across its footprint in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.
