Altair Industries Acquires Specialty Wire Manufacturer Central Wire

Private equity firm Altair Industries has acquired Central Wire Industries, a global manufacturer specializing in high-performance alloy wire and cable. The deal integrates CWI’s 12 manufacturing sites across North America and Europe into Altair’s portfolio, targeting a growing market demand for resilient, domestically sourced mission-critical industrial materials.

Altair Industries Acquires Specialty Wire Manufacturer Central Wire

Founded in 1955, Central Wire Industries supplies over 3,000 customers in the aerospace, defense, energy, and medical sectors. The company produces engineered components using stainless steel, nickel alloys, and red metals designed for extreme durability and corrosion resistance. By bringing CWI under its management, Altair aims to leverage the firm’s metallurgical expertise to scale operations and expand production capacity.

Paul From, President and CEO of CWI, cited Altair’s hands-on approach and sector-specific knowledge as the driving factors behind the partnership. Altair, a firm established only last year, focuses exclusively on middle-market companies within the aerospace and defense landscape. The new ownership intends to prioritize supply chain reliability as industrial clients increasingly demand localized sourcing for sensitive components. While legal counsel was provided by Greenberg Traurig for the buyer and Holland & Knight for the seller, the financial terms of the acquisition remain undisclosed.
