Envision and Sasol Partner on South African Green Hydrogen Study
South Africa’s Minister of Electricity and Energy, Dr. Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, visited Envision’s Chifeng Hydrogen Net Zero Industrial Park this week to oversee a new collaboration between Envision Energy and Sasol, aimed at designing an integrated green hydrogen system for the chemical company’s existing operations in Sasolburg.

Expected to conclude by the end of 2026, the technical assessment will provide the commercial data necessary to guide future capital investments. For Sasol, the project serves as a bridge to modernize its industrial infrastructure, while Envision aims to showcase the scalability of its intelligent energy systems in high-demand environments. Kane Xu, Senior Vice President at Envision, emphasized that the collaboration focuses on making green hydrogen cost-competitive, while Sasol’s Danie Cronje noted that the study is essential for evaluating the feasibility of new, lower-carbon chemical value chains.
