Allstate Second-Quarter Profits Surge to $3.2 Billion

The Allstate Corporation reported a significant financial jump for the second quarter of 2026, posting $3.2 billion in net income. The results, driven by robust underwriting and improved investment returns, signal a strong recovery compared to the $2.1 billion recorded during the same period last year.

Allstate Second-Quarter Profits Surge to $3.2 Billion

Revenues climbed to $18.6 billion, an 11.8% increase over the previous year, bolstered by higher insurance premiums and an expanding policy base. CEO Tom Wilson attributed the performance to the company’s strategic shift toward operational efficiency and growth in its core Property-Liability segment, which saw underwriting income reach $2.0 billion.

Auto insurance remains a primary engine for the company, with policies in force growing by 2.8% as new business increased by 8.8%. Homeowners insurance also performed well, swinging from a $76 million loss in the second quarter of 2025 to a $226 million profit this year. Beyond core insurance, the Protection Services division—covering areas like roadside assistance and protection plans—contributed $935 million in revenue, while investment income added $1.0 billion to the bottom line. Reflecting this financial strength, Allstate accelerated its capital return program, repurchasing $1.0 billion in shares during the quarter.
