The working group serves as a collaborative forum for banks, custodians, and blockchain firms to refine the operating standards for tokenizing traditional securities. Membership offers Plume a role in providing industry feedback, though the company has not secured a confirmed commercial integration or a commitment from DTCC to support its specific blockchain network. The group has grown rapidly, expanding from 50 participants in May to over 100 members by mid-July.
This development follows a series of production trades conducted by the DTCC in July, which tested workflows for Treasuries, equities, and collateral across the Besu and Canton networks. While Plume was not listed as a participant in those initial tests, its inclusion signals a broader attempt to integrate its onchain compliance infrastructure with legacy market systems. Plume operates under the framework of Kimber Transfer Agency, a wholly-owned subsidiary registered with the SEC, which allows the network to maintain official ownership records for tokenized funds.
