MSC Income Fund Reports Q2 Performance and Dividend Shift

The fund, which trades under the ticker MSIF, reported a total investment income of $35.7 million for the period ending June 30. While net investment income saw a year-over-year decline to $12 million—largely attributed to increased expenses and a $2.9 million capital gains incentive fee accrual—the net increase in assets from operations surged to $29.3 million. This performance was bolstered by an $11.6 million realized gain from the exit of Centre Technologies Holdings, LLC.

CEO Dwayne L. Hyzak pointed to the portfolio's quality and a robust investment pipeline as drivers for the fund's current trajectory. As of mid-year, the fund maintained a net asset value of $16.51 per share, marking a 4% increase from the end of the first quarter. Alongside the financial results, leadership confirmed a transition to monthly dividend payments, declaring $0.33 per share for the third quarter. To manage its capital structure, the board also authorized a $20 million share repurchase plan, with parent company Main Street Capital Corporation planning a parallel $20 million purchase initiative.
