WhiteBIT brings automated trading bots to UK retail market

WhiteBIT has rolled out its Spot Grid and Martingale DCA bots to users in the United Kingdom, offering automated strategies within a regulatory environment that strictly limits retail access to crypto derivatives. The tools provide hands-off execution for spot market participants while bypassing the leverage restrictions imposed by the Financial Conduct Authority.

The Spot Grid Bot functions by executing buy and sell orders at set intervals within a specific price range, a strategy tailored for sideways markets where assets oscillate between support and resistance. Conversely, the Martingale DCA Bot utilizes a directional approach, placing additional buy orders during price dips to lower the average entry cost before exiting at a target profit level. Both systems allow users to modify parameters mid-cycle without needing to restart the strategy.

These automated tools operate exclusively in the spot market, avoiding the liquidation risks inherent in the futures and options products banned by the FCA in 2021. However, the lack of leverage does not insulate traders from market volatility. Grid strategies may struggle if prices break out of the selected range, while DCA bots can accumulate significant exposure to assets undergoing a prolonged decline. Unlike the AI-driven agentic systems recently launched by platforms like Coinbase and Robinhood, which leverage external models for complex portfolio management, WhiteBIT’s bots remain tethered to rigid, predefined mathematical rules that require consistent user oversight.
