CEO Robert T. Ladd characterized the latest results as solid, noting the company maintains a portfolio valued at $968 million. While net investment income dipped compared to the same period in 2025, the firm managed to keep its core net investment income stable at $0.26 per share. The company’s active management strategy was underscored by a significant repayment volume, which outpaced new capital deployment by more than two-to-one.

Stellus also intensified its capital return efforts, repurchasing 467,317 shares at an average price of $8.50 since the inception of its buyback program in March. Looking ahead, the firm secured a new SBA license in July, providing additional liquidity through its SBIC III subsidiary. This allows for $125 million in equity contributions and up to $250 million in debentures, strengthening the company's long-term lending capacity.
