Decta, which provides payment processing and card issuance across 32 countries, will utilize OpenPayd’s over-the-counter services to convert fiat holdings into USDC. Once converted, the stablecoin will serve as a mechanism for moving funds between the company’s international entities. According to Lux Thiagarajah, chief commercial officer at OpenPayd, the arrangement is a proprietary treasury use case that ensures Decta’s clients never directly interact with digital assets during their standard transactions.
This move highlights a broader trend among financial institutions that are adopting stablecoins to modernize cross-border liquidity without altering their consumer offerings. By embedding USDC into its existing treasury workflows, Decta aims to increase the speed and resilience of its financial operations while maintaining its established regulatory controls. OpenPayd facilitates this process through its MiCA-authorized infrastructure, which supports fiat-to-stablecoin conversion, custody, and blockchain-based settlement.
