Frankie's Organic Recalls Vegan Cheddar Puffs Over Milk Contamination

Two reports of allergic reactions have triggered a recall for 94 cases of Frankie's Organic Plant-Based Vegan Cheddar Puffs. The snacks, marketed as dairy-free, contain undeclared milk traces linked to a seasoning ingredient supplied to the manufacturer, posing a significant risk to consumers with severe dairy allergies.

The recall specifically targets 4 oz. bags marked with the "Best If Used By" date of May 16, 2027, UPC 816929000089, and lot code 05 16 2027. These products were distributed primarily through PCC Markets in Washington and Earth Fare locations across Florida and South Carolina, alongside various independent retailers.

Frankie's Organic is coordinating with three distribution centers to clear remaining stock from shelves. Customers holding the affected bags should discard them or return them to the point of purchase for a full refund. The company identified the contamination at the seasoning supplier level and states it is currently implementing corrective measures. For further assistance, the company’s customer service line is reachable at 1-800-363-8209 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday.
