Ravencoin Hits Record Low as Miners Race to Roll Back Exploited Chain

Ravencoin plummeted to an all-time low of $0.002754 this week after a consensus flaw forced major mining pools to initiate a massive chain reorganization. The technical failure, which began on August 7, leaves three days of network transactions vulnerable to reversal as developers scramble to restore stability.

Ravencoin Hits Record Low as Miners Race to Roll Back Exploited Chain

The crisis centers on a vulnerability that allowed nodes to accept invalid blocks starting at height 4,487,776. In response, mining pools 2Miners and RavenMiner are currently constructing a competing chain that excludes the tainted blocks. Because these pools control the majority of the network's hash rate, their version is expected to become the dominant blockchain, effectively wiping out any transactions confirmed after block 4,487,775.

This potential three-day rollback has triggered significant market volatility and operational paralysis. Exchanges including Upbit and Bitget have suspended RVN deposits and withdrawals to prevent the processing of transactions that may soon cease to exist. While trading continues internally on these platforms, the underlying blockchain remains in a state of flux. This incident marks the second major protocol failure for Ravencoin, following a 2020 exploit that saw 315 million unauthorized RVN tokens minted, further straining investor confidence as the token price drifts further from its 2021 highs.
