Binance and RedotPay Clash Over Singapore Legal Proceedings

Binance and RedotPay are locked in a public dispute regarding the status of their ongoing litigation in Singapore. While RedotPay claims that proceedings initiated after an August 7 court hearing are being discontinued, the exchange insists its legal challenge remains active and that it has notified the court accordingly.

Binance and RedotPay Clash Over Singapore Legal Proceedings

The conflict centers on a legal action brought by Chaintecs Consulting Singapore, a Binance-affiliated entity, against affiliates of the Hong Kong-based payments provider. This matter runs parallel to a separate, high-stakes case in Hong Kong, where three Binance-linked companies are pursuing approximately $472.8 million in damages. The plaintiffs allege that RedotPay breached their commercial agreement by permitting Binance Pay funds to be used for card top-ups, effectively diverting over 470,000 users to the RedotPay ecosystem.

RedotPay has dismissed these allegations as unfounded, stating that it plans to pursue legal costs from the claimant following the supposed discontinuance of the Singapore matter. Conversely, a Binance spokesperson characterized reports of a withdrawal as false, maintaining that its claims are still being actively pursued. The tension stems from a commercial relationship that dissolved in April, when Binance terminated its support for RedotPay after a merchant review. This legal friction occurs as RedotPay seeks to scale its global operations, previously reporting a user base of 6 million and eyeing a significant U.S. public offering.
