Mary Sickler Champions New Narrative on Hair Loss and Beauty

While competing on the international stage in Vietnam, Miss World America Mary Sickler has become the face of Daniel Alain’s new campaign, Crowned in Confidence. The initiative highlights her personal journey with Alopecia Universalis, challenging long-standing beauty standards for women managing medical hair loss across the globe.

Mary Sickler Champions New Narrative on Hair Loss and Beauty

Eighteen months after losing all of her hair, Sickler now represents the United States at the Miss World competition. Her partnership with the luxury hair brand serves as a platform to dismantle the stigma surrounding hair loss caused by alopecia, chemotherapy, and autoimmune conditions. By wearing handcrafted wigs, Sickler emphasizes that beauty remains a personal expression rather than a requirement to conform to traditional aesthetics.

"This campaign isn't about wigs," Sickler said. "It's about helping people see themselves differently. I want every woman facing hair loss to know that confidence is still hers to claim." Beyond the pageant circuit, the initiative provides educational resources and personal reflections designed to support those navigating similar health challenges. Daniel Hafid, founder and CEO of Daniel Alain, noted that the project aims to restore the sense of self that medical diagnoses often erode. The digital campaign will continue to track Sickler’s advocacy work following her return from Vietnam.
