Wix Investors Face September Deadline in Securities Class Action

Investors who purchased Wix.com Ltd. securities between February 19, 2025, and May 12, 2026, have until September 22, 2026, to file as lead plaintiffs in a class action lawsuit. The litigation follows a 27% share price collapse sparked by revelations of surging AI-related development costs and dampened financial performance.

Wix Investors Face September Deadline in Securities Class Action

The lawsuit, Yappi v. Wix.com Ltd., et al., filed in the Northern District of Illinois, claims the web development company misled shareholders regarding the competitiveness of its AI initiatives, specifically the Base44 and Harmony platforms. While Wix leadership previously touted these tools as essential responses to the rise of AI-driven "vibe coding," the complaint alleges the company understated development costs while overstating the commercial benefits of the technology.

Financial strain became apparent when Wix reported a 46% year-over-year spike in operating expenses. By May 2026, the company disclosed that aggressive, front-loaded marketing and computing costs for its AI projects had eroded its non-GAAP operating margin from 21% to 5%. During an earnings call, management conceded that the Harmony platform suffered from missing capabilities, causing professional developers to migrate to competing tools. This disclosure wiped more than $1.1 billion from the company’s market capitalization in a single session. Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP, the firm leading the investigation, is now seeking to identify whether Wix intentionally concealed the adverse financial effects of these initiatives from the investing public.
