Connect America Debuts CareCompass to Shift Homecare Toward Early Triage

Nearly half of all personal emergency response system interactions involve health concerns that do not require emergency responders, yet users often wait until symptoms escalate. Connect America is now attempting to bridge this gap with CareCompass, a new service that integrates real-time nurse triage directly into existing home help buttons.

Connect America Debuts CareCompass to Shift Homecare Toward Early Triage

The platform moves beyond traditional reactive emergency support by allowing users to consult a registered nurse at the first sign of a health issue. By assessing symptoms immediately, the service provides personalized guidance on whether to pursue self-care, schedule a clinical follow-up, or dispatch emergency services. This approach aims to reduce unnecessary hospital transports and emergency department overcrowding.

Janet Dillione, CEO of Connect America, noted that the default response to health concerns has historically been an immediate call for emergency services. CareCompass provides a smarter first step by offering clinical oversight before a situation becomes critical. Beyond individual assistance, the system generates clinical data for healthcare organizations, allowing providers to identify emerging health trends, stratify risks, and adjust care plans for high-risk populations more effectively.
