Changpeng Zhao has drained his long-monitored public crypto wallet, transferring roughly $965,000 in BNB and 币安人生 tokens to his education initiative, Giggle Academy. The move follows persistent issues with unsolicited meme coins that created a constant stream of market speculation surrounding his personal holdings.
While Zhao described the retired address as a de facto burn wallet, it remains technically functional. Unlike a protocol-level burn address where private keys are destroyed to make assets unrecoverable, this wallet remains accessible to whoever holds its keys. Zhao simply intends to stop using it entirely. Tokens sent to the address by third parties will continue to appear on-chain, but the Binance founder will no longer interact with them. Giggle Academy, which secured $11 million in donations shortly after opening its doors in 2025, will now incorporate these funds into its mission of providing free, global educational content.
