Lazard Taps UBS Veteran Marco Superina to Lead Swiss Investment Banking

Lazard is deepening its foothold in the DACH region by naming former UBS executive Dr. Marco Superina to head its investment banking operations in Switzerland. Operating out of Zurich, Superina will oversee a strategy focused on providing M&A and capital solutions to the country's global corporations and family-owned enterprises.

The appointment serves as a pillar of the firm’s 'Lazard 2030' growth strategy, which prioritizes the expansion of its financial advisory footprint across key European markets. Superina joins a management team led by Marcus Schenck, the head of Lazard’s financial advisory business for the DACH region. Schenck noted that the move is designed to pair localized Swiss expertise with the firm’s broader global advisory platform.

Superina brings nearly three decades of experience to the role, having previously served as Head of Global Banking for Switzerland at UBS. His career also includes a long tenure at Credit Suisse, where he led M&A teams for Switzerland, Northern Europe, and the European healthcare sector. He holds a doctorate in banking and finance from the University of Zurich. In his new capacity, he will advise a diverse client base ranging from international corporations to entrepreneurs and financial sponsors.
