NAVI Protocol targets institutional capital with new Sui lending framework

NAVI Protocol has unveiled NAVI Prime, a specialized lending framework built on the Sui blockchain. The product aims to bridge the gap between institutional fund requirements and decentralized finance by offering enhanced transparency and granular control over capital management for professional market participants seeking onchain exposure.

The launch marks a strategic shift for the liquidity protocol, which currently manages approximately $124.6 million in total value locked. While the existing NAVI platform caters to retail users through standard borrowing and lending pools, NAVI Prime is engineered specifically for the demands of funds that require strict oversight of their collateralized positions. By leveraging Sui's native infrastructure, the framework provides a more controlled environment for managing digital assets, including stablecoins like USDC and USDT.

NAVI Protocol maintains a robust presence within the Sui ecosystem, having secured $4 million in funding earlier this year from backers including OKX Ventures, Hashed, and Mysten Labs. As of mid-August, the protocol recorded over $65 million in active loans. This institutional pivot complements the growing availability of regulated SUI exposure, which includes cash-settled futures contracts on the CME Group. By integrating these professional-grade tools, NAVI seeks to consolidate its role as a primary liquidity hub as the Sui network expands its stablecoin and cross-chain capabilities.
