The platform functions as a single endpoint for developers to access major models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and SpaceXAI, with support for open-source alternatives like Nvidia, DeepSeek, and Qwen. According to Ramp, early adopters have already trimmed their AI inference costs by an average of 40%. The system operates by matching the complexity of a task to the cheapest model capable of handling it, while incorporating automated fallbacks and caching to ensure 99.9% reliability.

Ramp Launches Router.com to Curb Exploding Corporate AI Costs
With corporate AI spending surging more than 20-fold since June 2025, Ramp has unveiled Router.com, a centralized platform designed to slash inference bills. By automatically directing API requests to the most cost-effective model that meets specific performance standards, the tool promises to turn chaotic AI expenditures into manageable, optimized workflows.

To ensure performance meets business needs, Ramp evaluates model efficacy using its proprietary SWE-Bench, which tests AI capabilities against real-world engineering workloads rather than generic leaderboards. Rahul Sengottuvelu, Ramp's Chief Technology Officer, noted that the tool was originally developed as an internal solution three years ago to control the company's own rising expenses. Beyond simple routing, the service integrates with Ramp’s broader financial visibility tools, allowing companies to track exactly who is initiating AI work and how much it costs. The service is currently live and available for free through the end of 2026.
