SANY Deploys Autonomous Mining Fleet to South America

A fleet of SKT110Ei pure-electric autonomous mining trucks departed from SANY’s Shenyang Heavy Equipment Industrial Park on August 12, marking the company’s first entry into the Latin American market with self-driving technology. The project incorporates an intelligent dispatching system alongside comprehensive lifecycle maintenance services for local site operators.

The deployment addresses persistent industry hurdles, including rising labor costs and the inherent safety risks of manual haulage in complex environments. By integrating roadside infrastructure with cloud-based dispatching, the solution aims to reduce dependency on human operators while maintaining high productivity levels. The SKT110Ei models utilize in-house autonomous systems designed to optimize energy consumption and equipment availability.

SANY continues to scale its presence in the sector, having recently debuted a cabless, liquid-cooled electric truck at the 2026 Mining Summit. This new hardware supports three distinct control modes: on-site takeover, remote operation, and fully autonomous navigation. Data from the company’s subsidiary, SANY Intelligent Mining, shows over 300 units currently in service globally, having logged 13 million kilometers of operation and moved 41 million cubic meters of material as of July 2026.
