Magic Potion Games Secures Series A Funding After Million-Player Beta

Founded by veterans from Club Penguin, Electronic Arts, and Epic Games, Magic Potion is positioning its flagship title as a trust-first alternative to mainstream social platforms. The company reports that its growth occurred entirely without paid marketing, signaling a strong demand for online spaces that prioritize child safety and COPPA-compliant moderation over aggressive monetization.

The recent investment round brings prominent backers into the fold, including Square Enix, 1Up Ventures, and Konvoy. Gregory Milken of 1AM Gaming joins the board of directors as the studio prepares to integrate major entertainment franchises and new creator tools later this year. By combining live moderation with age-appropriate social features for children aged 6–13, the developers are attempting to bridge the gap between creative freedom and parental oversight. Having already secured a nomination for Best Web Game of the Year in the 2026 Pocketgamer Awards, the team now shifts its focus toward launching a membership model that favors transparency over traditional engagement-driven revenue tactics.
