Benton Harbor-based Whirlpool Corporation has earned a spot on Seramount’s 2026 100 Best Companies list and achieved the highest Pinnacle status on the 2026 Talent and Inclusion Index, marking a significant milestone in the appliance manufacturer’s decade-long effort to standardize family-friendly and inclusive workplace policies.

The recognition highlights Whirlpool's evolution in fostering an environment that supports working parents and caregivers through comprehensive leave policies, wellness resources, and professional development programs. The Talent and Inclusion Index specifically evaluates how organizations manage workforce representation, recruitment, and retention, a process in which Whirlpool has participated for nine consecutive years.

Carey Martin, Whirlpool’s chief human resources officer, stated that these accolades underscore the company's commitment to empowering employees throughout their career cycles. By prioritizing equitable culture and support structures, the firm aims to build a sustainable workforce while maintaining its position as a major U.S.-based appliance manufacturer. The company currently employs 20,000 people across the United States, with 14,000 of those roles based in manufacturing plants, reinforcing the link between their internal culture and the production of brands such as KitchenAid, Maytag, and JennAir.
