The facility, located in Denver’s Central Park neighborhood, operates 24 hours a day to maintain certifications for United’s nearly 18,000 active pilots. Since 2022, the airline has integrated 40 new CAE training devices, bringing the total to 52 full-motion simulators and 34 fixed units. This infrastructure supports more than 32,000 training events annually, with every pilot required to undergo intensive simulator sessions every nine months.

Investment in the Denver hub remains aggressive, with $370 million poured into the training center since 2016. Following the city council’s approval of a rezoning request in July 2026, United is preparing for a second phase of expansion on adjacent land. Groundbreaking for this project is scheduled for 2027, with the new capacity expected to come online by 2030. Beyond the training center, the airline has funneled nearly $1 billion into its Denver hub since 2021, fueling local job growth with plans to hire 1,300 additional staff in 2026.
