Futu Holdings Investors Face August 25 Deadline in Securities Lawsuit

Investors who held Futu Holdings Limited stock between May 2023 and May 2026 have until August 25, 2026, to file as lead plaintiffs in a federal class action. The litigation follows a sharp 27% drop in the company's share price earlier this year amid allegations of regulatory non-compliance.

Futu Holdings Investors Face August 25 Deadline in Securities Lawsuit

The lawsuit, spearheaded by the law firm Faruqi & Faruqi, LLP, targets the company’s executive leadership over claims of deceptive financial reporting. Plaintiffs allege that Futu failed to disclose its lack of necessary licenses to conduct securities and fund sales business within mainland China. According to the complaint, these undisclosed regulatory risks led to an overstatement of the company's financial health, ultimately misleading shareholders regarding the firm's stability and operational standing.

Those seeking to represent the class must petition the court by the August 25 deadline. While the role of lead plaintiff involves overseeing litigation and representing the interests of the broader investor group, shareholders may also choose to remain absent class members without forfeiting their potential share of a future recovery. Partner James (Josh) Wilson is currently coordinating with affected investors to discuss legal options, potential claims, and the specifics of the ongoing federal proceedings.
