Hisense Claims Majority Share of Global Giant-Screen TV Market

Commanding a 55.1% market share, Hisense secured the top global spot for television shipments measuring 100 inches and above during the first half of 2026. Data released by Omdia confirms the manufacturer’s dominance in the ultra-large display category, fueled by rising consumer appetite for cinematic, immersive home viewing experiences.

The company is now doubling down on its display hardware, specifically targeting the premium MiniLED sector. Its UR9 Series utilizes advanced RGB MiniLED technology to independently manage red, green, and blue light backlighting, a move aimed at enhancing contrast and color accuracy. This focus on high-end optics extends to the U7 and U6 Pro series, which leverage Hi-QLED technology to pair precise local dimming with quantum dot color reproduction.

Beyond traditional LCD panels, Hisense maintains a firm grip on the Laser TV market. In 2025, the brand accounted for over 70% of global shipments in this niche, effectively moving two out of every three units sold worldwide. This technical trajectory will be a primary focus at the upcoming IFA 2026 in Berlin, where the company plans to present its latest innovations under the theme “Innovating a Brighter Life” beginning September 3.
