Tashkent Hosts Global Media Forum on Islamic Heritage
Three hundred media representatives from 50 countries have descended upon Tashkent and Samarkand to explore new ways of presenting Islamic civilization to a global audience. The forum, organized by the Center for Islamic Civilization, seeks to modernize the narrative of historical achievements through digital technology, artificial intelligence, and international media collaboration.
Dr. Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director General of the Center, emphasized that the goal is to ground the humanistic essence of Islamic history in contemporary media. This strategy has already yielded results, with the documentary series Echo of Enlightenment, featuring Sir Ben Kingsley, reaching over 418 million viewers. Delegates will spend the coming days touring the Center’s facilities in Tashkent and historical landmarks in Samarkand, such as the Imam al-Bukhari Memorial Complex, to scout subjects for future books, films, and digital projects that highlight this shared human heritage.
