The Forbes ranking, developed alongside market research firm Statista, evaluated employers based on feedback from over 146,000 women. Key metrics included career development initiatives, parental leave policies, and the effectiveness of work-life balance programs. For Armed Forces Bank, the achievement reflects a deliberate culture shift designed to accommodate the unique challenges faced by its workforce, roughly 80% of whom share a direct military affiliation.

Jodi Vickery, the bank's EVP and Chief Digital Officer, noted that the organization prioritizes adaptability, recognizing that career paths for women—particularly military spouses—often require flexibility. Beyond internal operations, the bank has scaled its support through external initiatives like the SpouseWorks partnership and a collaboration with Hire Heroes USA. These programs provide career coaching and resources to military families, reinforcing the bank's broader strategy to bolster financial and professional stability for the community it serves.
