The firm offloaded 18.26 million MSTR shares through its at-the-market offering program, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. This move brings the company's total cash position to $6.69 billion, split between a $5.1 billion U.S. dollar reserve and a newly established $1.59 billion cash pool. While Strategy maintains a massive hoard of 840,447 BTC, management has signaled that the new cash account offers increased flexibility to navigate shifting market conditions.

Strategy Raises $2 Billion in Stock Sales, Holds Bitcoin Steady
Strategy has bolstered its liquidity with a $2 billion infusion from common stock sales, opting to keep its Bitcoin treasury unchanged while prioritizing cash reserves. Between August 17 and August 23, the company funneled the proceeds into a new cash account and preferred stock repurchases rather than acquiring additional digital assets.

Capital allocation remains focused on stabilizing securities and managing debt. During the same August period, Strategy spent $136.4 million to repurchase approximately 1.43 million STRC perpetual preferred shares. CEO Phong Le has previously noted that the company’s ability to resume Bitcoin accumulation is tethered to the performance of these preferred securities, specifically aiming for them to return to their $100 par value. The current strategy marks a shift from earlier this summer, when the company sold portions of its Bitcoin holdings to fund cash obligations and debt distributions. For now, the treasury remains static, reflecting a tactical pivot toward liquidity management over immediate asset expansion.
