Grady, a member of the firm’s Governing Committee, will spearhead regional recruitment efforts while leveraging a portfolio that already serves more than 55 banking and finance clients. These range from international institutions and regional lenders to community-based credit unions. Managing Partner Douglas W. Dimitroff cited Grady’s three decades of experience in complex commercial lending and development financing as the primary driver for the firm’s push to elevate its local presence and attract high-level legal talent.

The firm plans to complement its core financial services and litigation focus by strategically adding lateral talent in sectors including telecommunications, energy, data centers, and real estate. This move reflects a broader objective to provide multidisciplinary counsel to an expanding roster of clients, from Fortune 1000 companies to emerging startups. Phillips Lytle, which maintains a presence across New York, Washington, D.C., and Canada, continues to lean on its century-old reputation for banking expertise to secure its foothold in the Chicago market.
