Pump.fun expands to HyperEVM as Hyperliquid trading volume surges

Pump.fun has integrated HyperEVM token trading, allowing users to swap assets using USDC on the Hyperliquid blockchain. The expansion marks a strategic pivot for the platform, which previously focused exclusively on the Solana ecosystem, as it looks to capture liquidity from a network currently handling over $500 million in daily volume.

The integration enables traders to interact with HyperEVM assets directly through the Pump.fun interface, with the platform offering referral rewards and advertising minimal trading costs. While the company claims to be the first to implement this specific trading interface for HyperEVM, it has not provided a detailed fee schedule or clarified how network gas charges are managed for end users. The service is already live, with tokens like EGG appearing on the platform's market page.

Hyperliquid’s ecosystem has seen significant growth, currently holding approximately $1.59 billion in decentralized finance value. By moving beyond Solana, Pump.fun aims to diversify its revenue streams, which recently reached $10.03 million in a single seven-day period. However, the platform remains silent on whether its new interface will support the creation of new HyperEVM tokens or merely facilitate the trading of existing assets. As the platform scales, it continues to navigate a complex regulatory environment, with U.S. officials maintaining that many meme-style tokens operate outside the scope of federal securities protections.
