CME Group Expands Equity Suite With New Factor Futures

Starting September 21, CME Group will launch a series of E-mini Equity Factor futures, pending regulatory approval. The new contracts target specific performance indicators—including growth, value, and quality—allowing investors to refine portfolio exposure and manage risk through the S&P 500 and Dow Jones benchmarks.

CME Group Expands Equity Suite With New Factor Futures

The expansion introduces six distinct futures products tied to S&P 500 and Dow Jones indices. These include benchmarks for Growth, Value, Quality, Momentum, Low Volatility, and the Dow Jones U.S. Dividend 100. By facilitating margin offsets with existing cleared equity products, the exchange aims to provide institutional and retail participants with more precise tools for relative value trading.

Joseph Hickey, Global Head of Equity Products at CME Group, noted that market participants are increasingly seeking granular control over risk components. The launch is supported by a collaborative effort with S&P Dow Jones Indices, with additional industry backing from firms like Invesco and Schwab Asset Management. These contracts will be available for trading on CME Globex, as well as through block trades and Basis Trade at Index Close (BTIC) transactions.
