The company’s treasury strategy centered on a $647 million equity capital raise, which facilitated the purchase of approximately 16.5 million HYPE tokens since December. By the end of August, the total position reached 29.3 million tokens, valued at $1.9 billion based on fiscal year-end pricing. CEO David Schamis characterized the past year as a foundational period, noting the firm’s successful pivot from legacy biotechnology operations and the launch of a validator node with Unit to generate additional staking revenue.

Hyperliquid Strategies Expands HYPE Treasury to $1.9 Billion
Hyperliquid Strategies has aggressively scaled its digital asset reserves, doubling its HYPE holdings to 29.3 million tokens. The Nasdaq-listed firm, which operates through the PURR ticker, reported a $305.5 million annual net income while maintaining a debt-free balance sheet as of the fiscal year ending June 30.

Financial results revealed total assets of $2.06 billion, bolstered by significant unrealized gains from HYPE’s market performance. Despite the token's volatility, the firm reported that substantially all of its holdings are currently staked. Institutional interest in this exposure has grown, with entities like the Duquesne Family Office and the state of Wyoming disclosing indirect positions via PURR shares. Meanwhile, Hyperliquid’s underlying protocol has seen substantial growth, accounting for roughly 63% of open interest across decentralized perpetual markets by late August. While the company pursues a path toward potential U.S. regulatory compliance, it cautioned investors that no formal agreement with the CFTC has been reached, leaving domestic access to the protocol restricted.
