Once Human Expands to Consoles Alongside Massive Ocean Update

NetEase Games and Starry Studio have officially brought their survival title Once Human to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The console expansion arrives with full cross-play and cross-progression support, allowing users to carry their progress from PC and mobile platforms while tapping into hardware-specific features like DualSense haptics.

Once Human Expands to Consoles Alongside Massive Ocean Update

The console release introduces a first-person perspective, giving players the ability to toggle between traditional third-person views and a more grounded viewpoint. Xbox Game Pass subscribers gain a specific advantage at launch, receiving an exclusive avatar, a META PASS benefit card, and a bundle of discount vouchers alongside monthly outfit updates. Meanwhile, PlayStation 5 users benefit from deep DualSense integration, where adaptive triggers provide physical resistance for actions like drawing a bow string.

Beyond the console launch, the developers revealed the game’s largest content expansion to date: Isles of Abyss. Arriving in October, this update shifts the survival experience to an oceanic setting. Players will transition from exploring islands to navigating the open sea, where they must construct mobile maritime sanctuaries starting from basic wooden rafts. The expansion introduces a series of new threats, including mechanical behemoths and ghost ships, set against a dynamic environment where the ocean itself functions as a living entity.
