Galaxy Adds 24/7 Emergency Response to Texas Data Center
Sixty miles of separation from the nearest trauma center in Lubbock has prompted Galaxy to establish a permanent emergency presence at its Helios Data Center Campus. The firm partnered with Total Safety to station fire, rescue, and medical personnel on-site, aiming to insulate local volunteer responders from the facility’s growing operational demands.
Helios currently supports 133 megawatts of critical computing load for CoreWeave, with expansion plans slated through 2028. As the campus grows to accommodate over 500 megawatts of IT load, the on-site responders are intended to handle stabilization and initial treatment for industrial incidents. Galaxy officials suggest these teams may also assist with regional emergencies, such as grass fires or severe weather, though the specific protocols for mutual aid remain undefined.
