AMN Healthcare to Pay $4.5 Million in Privacy Class Action Settlement

The settlement, stemming from the case Carrero, et al. v. AMN Healthcare, Inc. et al., addresses claims that the provider tracked and recorded sensitive language interpretation sessions. While the company maintains it acted appropriately, it opted to settle to bypass the mounting costs and unpredictability of a protracted court battle in the Superior Court of California.

To secure a cash distribution, affected parties must submit a claim form by October 27, 2026. Those who prefer to retain their right to sue individually must formally opt out by the same October deadline. Individuals who remain in the class but take no action will forfeit any payment while remaining legally bound by the terms of the agreement.

A final approval hearing is set for December 18, 2026. During this session, the court will review the settlement terms, including proposed attorney fees—capped at 35% of the fund—and potential service awards of up to $10,000 for each class representative.
