Parekh will serve as one of three Co-Lead Counsel for MDL No. 3181, currently overseen by U.S. District Judge Josephine L. Staton in the Central District of California. His responsibilities include managing discovery, coordinating pretrial strategy, and conducting depositions for cases involving patients who report severe injuries, including electrical shocks and neurological complications. Quicksell joins the Leadership Development Committee to work alongside senior counsel while building experience in large-scale federal proceedings.

Beyond individual device claims, the litigation scrutinizes how manufacturers modified hardware and firmware after initial FDA approval without conducting new clinical trials. Parekh views the MDL as a critical step in addressing broader industry practices. With a Judicial Panel hearing scheduled for September 24 regarding potential consolidation of cases against Abbott and Nevro, the scope of these proceedings may soon expand to encompass a wider range of medical device manufacturers.
