Ecopetrol Reshuffles Senior Leadership in Innovation and Energy Divisions
Colombia's state-controlled energy giant Ecopetrol announced a series of executive leadership changes on August 31, 2026, affecting its science, technology, and energy transition departments. The board’s latest resolutions mark a transition for both the corporate vice presidency of innovation and the executive vice presidency of energy transition.

Simultaneously, the company formalized the appointment of Henryk Manuel Porras Villamil as the Acting Executive Vice President of Energy Transition. Porras Villamil, formerly a project leader in the energy transition department, replaces Ernesto Alfonso Gómez Cabarcas. Following his departure, Gómez Cabarcas plans to take a period of statutory leave before pursuing new professional opportunities outside the organization. Ecopetrol noted that further disclosures regarding permanent appointments for these roles will follow in accordance with market regulations.
