Power Knot Deploys Biodigesters Across Four UAE Landmarks

Four major retail and hospitality sites in the United Arab Emirates have installed LFC biodigesters to process organic waste onsite. By converting food scraps into wastewater through aerobic digestion, these properties are bypassing the logistical hurdles of storing and transporting waste from kitchens and food courts to external disposal facilities.

The units, developed by California-based Power Knot, operate by breaking down waste at the point of origin. This shift eliminates the need for staff to manage large volumes of organic material, which often leads to storage issues and sanitation concerns in dense commercial environments. Beyond physical disposal, the technology tracks processing metrics automatically, allowing facility managers to generate precise data for sustainability audits.

Iain Milnes, President of Power Knot, noted that the move reflects a broader trend among UAE operators seeking reliable solutions for high-traffic environments. As these retail and hospitality venues scale their waste management, the move toward onsite processing helps simplify daily operations while reducing the carbon footprint associated with conventional waste collection.
