SprintRay Launches Midas Restore Resin for Same-Visit Dental Crowns

Traditional 3D-printed dental materials often force a trade-off between fluid viscosity for printing and high filler content for strength. By utilizing its proprietary Digital Press Stereolithography technology, SprintRay bypasses these constraints, pushing highly viscous, particle-dense resins into the print zone. The result is a material that behaves more like natural dentin than brittle ceramics, allowing the restoration to flex and distribute stress alongside the underlying tooth structure.

Laboratory testing indicates a biaxial flexural strength of 215 MPa and a surface hardness exceeding 80 HV. Beyond mechanical durability, the resin is engineered for rapid clinical workflows. Dentists can post-cure units in four minutes and achieve a high-gloss finish in under two minutes using standard polishing tools. Because the material can be adjusted or repaired intraorally before bonding, it eliminates the need for provisional restorations or secondary appointments.

"We engineered Midas Restore around how a restoration actually behaves once it is bonded to a tooth, not around a single strength number," said Hossein Bassir, Chief Product Officer at SprintRay. The product is available starting September 1, 2026, in five shades, with a three-pack of single-unit capsules priced at $135.
