College Colors Day 2026: Fans Prepare to Wear Their Allegiances
On September 4, college sports fans across the United States will trade everyday attire for school colors in a nationwide display of team loyalty. The annual College Colors Day, coordinated by licensing leader CLC, marks a shift from passive support to an overt celebration of university traditions and lifelong fandom.
Beyond the display of apparel, the event offers tangible incentives for participants. Fans can enter a sweepstakes through September 6 for a trip to the 2027 College Football Playoff National Championship in Las Vegas. Retail partners are also fueling the momentum with significant discounts: DICK’S Sporting Goods is offering 25% off select NCAA apparel through September 5, while Fanatics will provide up to 60% off college gear on the day of the event. According to Nicole Armentrout, senior vice president of marketing at CLC, the goal is to celebrate a form of fandom that remains unapologetic regardless of the setting—whether at the office, on campus, or at home.
