S&P Global confirmed the completion of its acquisition of datacenterHawk, a strategic move designed to bolster the company’s infrastructure and energy market intelligence. The integration merges datacenterHawk’s asset-level data with S&P Global Energy’s existing forecasting capabilities to provide a unified view of the AI-driven infrastructure ecosystem.

The merger incorporates datacenterHawk’s specialized intelligence on data center supply, demand, and site selection—including its FiberLocator platform—directly into S&P Global Energy. This move aims to address the growing demand for real-time data that connects energy grids with the physical infrastructure required to support artificial intelligence.

Dave Ernsberger, President of S&P Global Energy, stated that the acquisition provides customers with a more comprehensive perspective on the interconnected nature of compute, connectivity, and power systems. While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the company noted that the transaction is not expected to materially impact its financial results. The acquisition, originally announced in July 2026, reinforces the firm’s strategy to expand its influence within the rapidly evolving infrastructure and energy markets.
