Skyven Hits COP 8.0 Milestone in Industrial Steam Efficiency

In a significant leap for industrial thermal technology, Skyven Technologies has pushed its Arcturus heat pump to a sustained coefficient of performance of 8.0. This benchmark, achieved at the company’s demonstration center in Dallas, marks a 20% efficiency jump over initial commissioning figures and redefines current steam-generation standards.

Skyven Hits COP 8.0 Milestone in Industrial Steam Efficiency

The performance gains stem from iterative refinements in system design, control logic, and integration. While the Arcturus line is calibrated to match site-specific requirements—offering temperature lifts ranging from 38°C to 185°C—the 8.0 COP at the higher end of its capability signifies a tenfold reduction in energy demand compared to standard industrial boilers.

For manufacturers, particularly those within the European market, this shift offers a hedge against energy price volatility and rising compliance costs under the EU Emissions Trading System. Daniel Galis, Europe Director at the Renewable Thermal Collaborative, noted that electrification represents a vital lever for reducing reliance on imported natural gas and strengthening industrial resilience. Skyven CEO Arun Gupta emphasized that the technology provides a practical path to lower steam costs, challenging the century-long dominance of traditional boiler systems.
