PMI Foods Funds Two-Year Expansion of Utah Mobile School Pantry

To mark the start of Hunger Action Month, global supplier PMI Foods has pledged $15,000 to the Utah Food Bank. The grant covers a two-year sponsorship of the Mobile School Pantry program, which delivers monthly grocery assistance directly to students and their families across five high-need Utah counties.

The initiative targets food insecurity in Davis, Iron, Utah, Salt Lake, and Washington counties. Through the Mobile School Pantry, participating students receive 15 to 18 pounds of food each month during the school year. PMI Foods President Darin Parker noted that the company aims to strengthen its local community impact by scaling its ongoing collaboration with the food bank.

Utah Food Bank President and CEO Ginette Bott stated that the donation facilitates the purchase and distribution of essential resources directly to school playgrounds, which serve as a primary point of contact for families. This contribution follows a summer donation from PMI Foods of 1,738 frozen protein products. The food bank, which distributed approximately 58 million meals last fiscal year, continues to rely on such corporate partnerships to sustain its statewide network of 309 agencies.
