The app’s design draws from a 2024 study published in The BMJ, which observed a lower prevalence of Alzheimer’s disease among taxi and ambulance drivers compared to professionals on fixed routes. Researchers theorized that the necessity of real-time route planning provides a unique cognitive stimulus. MemoryDriver replicates this by forcing users to memorize and reproduce complex paths in a virtual city, replacing passive navigation with active spatial memory work.

Competition and Cognitive Capital

Version 2.0 shifts from a subscription-only model to a free-to-play structure. Users progress through competitive tiers—ranging from Bronze to Platinum—while earning experience points. The launch event on September 15 serves as the primary showcase for this model, where the five highest-scoring participants will win cash prizes and premium access. According to co-founder Dr. Evaristus Nwulia, the goal is to shift the perception of brain health from a medical chore to a form of "cognitive capital" built through routine challenge.

To support the broader "Million Minds Mission," the company is also rolling out an Ambassador Program. This initiative offers recurring commissions to educators, healthcare professionals, and wellness advocates who integrate the app into their communities. While the app is built on observational neurological research, Evon Medics clarifies that MemoryDriver is a consumer entertainment product, not a medical device, and is not intended to diagnose or treat neurodegenerative conditions.
