Northway Biotech Opens €61 Million Cell Therapy Hub in Vilnius
Lithuania has inaugurated the Baltic States' first dedicated center for innovative cell therapy and personalized medicine. The 3,500-square-meter facility in Vilnius, developed by Northway Biotech as part of the BIO CITY III project, represents a €61 million investment aimed at scaling the production of advanced medical treatments.

This project marks a milestone for the Stem Cell Research Center, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. The center is intended to serve international pharmaceutical firms, research institutions, and university hospitals. By focusing on highly specific manufacturing processes—where a single production line may be dedicated to an individual patient—the company is shifting away from traditional large-batch pharmaceutical models. The initiative is supported by private funding and a loan from the national development bank ILTE, aligning with Lithuania's broader economic goal of growing the life sciences sector to 5% of its GDP by 2030. The site will employ approximately 100 professionals, further integrating into the BIO CITY ecosystem alongside existing gene therapy and biologics operations.
