Kalshi Expands Crypto Derivatives Lineup for U.S. Traders

Kalshi launched perpetual contracts for BNB, Cardano, Worldcoin, Aave, and Venice Token on September 4, granting U.S. traders expanded access to leveraged positions. These additions bring the platform’s total offering to 18 perpetual products, all margined and settled in U.S. dollars without fixed expiration dates.

The new contracts allow traders to take long or short positions on assets tied to various sectors, including AI-linked projects like Worldcoin and Venice Token. Leverage varies by product; BNB offers approximately 4.5 times, while Venice Token is capped at 1.9 times. These tools provide price exposure without requiring users to hold the underlying digital assets, though the platform warns that leverage significantly increases liquidation risk.

These listings arrived via the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s public filing system, a process that allows registered exchanges to certify certain products without a full affirmative commission vote. This expansion occurs against a backdrop of ongoing legal friction between the CFTC and CME Group. CME sued the regulator over the authorization of Kalshi’s earlier Bitcoin perpetuals, arguing that such products should be classified as swaps rather than conventional futures. The CFTC recently moved to dismiss the lawsuit, asserting that CME lacks legal standing to challenge the platform's operations.
