Binance Adds PONS and Hajimi Perpetual Futures Amid Volatility

Binance Futures expanded its derivatives lineup on September 6, introducing USDT-settled perpetual contracts for the PONS token and the Chinese meme coin Hajimi. The move follows rapid price appreciation for both assets, though the exchange has yet to signal plans for a conventional spot listing for either project.

Binance Adds PONS and Hajimi Perpetual Futures Amid Volatility

The new contracts, PONSUSDT and HajimiUSDT, allow traders to speculate on price movements without holding the underlying tokens. Trading for PONS began at 06:45 UTC, followed by Hajimi at 07:15 UTC. Both markets operate continuously with funding settlements occurring every four hours, and each requires a minimum notional value of 5 USDT per order.

Technical specifications for the launch contained inconsistencies regarding leverage limits. While the introductory announcement suggested 20x leverage for PONSUSDT, the contract specification table capped it at 3x for both assets. Until Binance provides a formal correction, traders are advised to rely on the specific margin brackets displayed on the live trading interface to avoid unexpected liquidation risks.

Both tokens have seen significant market activity recently. PONS, a non-custodial launchpad on the Robinhood Chain, previously gained traction through its inclusion in Binance Alpha. Meanwhile, Hajimi has exhibited extreme volatility, with recorded 24-hour price swings ranging from approximately $0.016 to $0.145. Binance emphasized that the availability of these futures contracts does not constitute an endorsement of the projects' long-term viability or security, and regional trading restrictions remain in effect for users.
