Regan Hutsell Becomes 99th Miss America

Hutsell, a former professional dancer with the Birmingham Royal Ballet and the Radio City Rockettes, rose to the top of a 52-delegate field after two nights of preliminary contests. Her victory makes her only the fourth winner from Texas in the pageant's 105-year history. Beyond her stage performance, she used the platform to advocate for her initiative, 'Your Body Is Your Home,' which draws on her personal recovery from an eating disorder to promote healthy self-worth.

The final event, hosted by Jennifer Hale and Billy Gilman, saw Hutsell edge out a Top 5 that included representatives from Louisiana, Illinois, California, and the District of Columbia. The win secures her nearly $90,000 in scholarships as she continues her studies toward a degree in Health Sciences. Hutsell plans to dedicate her tenure to the organization’s mission of empowering women to lead with purpose, wearing a commemorative crown designed with red and blue stones to mark the nation’s upcoming semiquincentennial.
