FastGPT Updates AI Orchestration with Conditional Workflows

FastGPT has released versions 4.16.0, 4.9.2, and 4.8.10, introducing structural workflow upgrades and refined deployment protocols for self-hosted users. These updates, developed in Hangzhou, focus on improving node management, conditional branching, and sandbox configuration to streamline the creation of complex AI agents and knowledge base applications.

FastGPT Updates AI Orchestration with Conditional Workflows

The latest workflow updates prioritize user interface precision and logic control. Developers can now utilize automatic edge and center alignment for dragged nodes alongside new undo/redo shortcuts for local editing history. A significant addition is the user selection node, which allows for conditional branching through Confirm/Cancel prompts. While this feature enhances decision-making within workflows, it remains incompatible with plugins or tool calls and does not currently support Debug mode.

Deployment adjustments address the platform's infrastructure requirements. The update revises image tags for core and commercial services while modifying environment variables for sandbox proxies and resource limits. Users are required to run mandatory migration scripts for existing Agent Sandbox data. Furthermore, the platform has optimized knowledge base chunking to include custom delimiters and expanded size capacities, alongside new support for SSO migration and community-sourced database tutorials.

Despite these improvements, the project maintains certain limitations. The development team strongly recommends cross-origin sandbox deployment to mitigate security risks, noting that the platform does not enforce origin isolation checks. Additionally, known issues—such as loop node termination failures and startup errors on specific Synology DSM kernels—persist. Users should consult the official GitHub repository for complete release notes and upgrade guides before performing any self-hosted installations.
